Monday, August 11, 2003 "WBCN caller number one...try again..." [Automated message] The story of my summer. Well, the story of my concert plans this summer...try again... First, Kevin, Caitie, and I bought tickets to see The White Stripes at the Fleet Pavillion in Boston... but Jack White got in a car accident and broke his finger... concert = postponed, date TBA... The date was finally annouced as set to be November 21st... ONE DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING BREAK, which translates to = I can't go... damn living on campus... Second, the A Perfect Circle concert at the Berklee Performance Center, also in Boston... Tickets sold out in about two minutes flat... and I wasn't one of the happy ticket-holders... Third... I planned on buying Radiohead tickets with Caitie which would have actually been possible... except that my parents were arguing about money when I was going to ask to use a credit card... I didn't want to be rude, plus, at that point I thought for sure I was seeing White Stripes and APC... oopps... that one was my fault... So yesterday I spent my lifeless day sitting around listening to WBCN for the possibility of winning Radiohead tickets... don't worry, I wasn't convinced I'd win or anything... just a last minute attempt at saving my summer from it's crumbling ashes... They were giving away shirts, cd's, and tickets that day... I called in each time they announced anything... with 1 (617) 931-1041 ready on redial... Each time I got a busy signal until it was too late... And of course the one time it mattered, the chance for tix, was the only time I got through, but I was caller number one... not winning caller number fourteen... Why wasn't caller number one special?
