a bite of chocolat... ::home::
A place for my thoughts and ideas, my creative outlet, a little piece of the web for me to call my own...yeah...right...

Top o' the Mornin' to ya, and Happy belated St. Patty's Day! I guess it's just the bit of Irish in me, but corned beef is my absolute favorite meat. And only the way my dad taught me to cook it. Any other way is sacreligious, simply detestable...heheh, but i've always been a bit of a snob... Anyway, why am I talking about food? I don't know. Did you know America is the world's fattest country? And if you didn't know, you no doubt would have guessed... It absolutely sickens me. I'm not "weight-ist" or anything, and I understand that some people are genetically overweight...but you don't just wake up fat one morning...and do I even need to go into the reasons why people should lose weight? Health, avoiding a traumatic childhood, comfort, convenience, and so that people will like them because, yes, people are shallow and petty. What brought on this tangent? I just watched Shallow Hal the other night, and, yeah, "awe, cute, good for her, she found love" and "good for him, he recognized inner beauty blah blah blah..." Let's feed the starving countries of the world big, fat, jucy, Americans... Fat epitomizes greed, gluttony, sloth. It's certainly not true for every over-weight person, but it's a symbol. And I probably shouldn't be America-bashing on the brink of war, but I just don't care. Sure, I don't want people to die in the sense of pain and sadness. But this planet could sure use a good population trim...
