![]() Saturday, July 20, 2002 And because I’m me, I couldn’t stay away for long… So anyway, last night I watched Meet Joe Black due to a recommendation from my host sister and the fact that it was on the counter at the library when I was checking out Fight Club, again… and it was pretty good. I’m not very big on “chick-flick” movies. Yeah, once in a while, I might find something I like, but lately, movies haven’t been able to move me to tears. For me, that’s a sign of a good “chick-flick” movie: if it makes me cry. I don’t like them if they’re just cutesy or romantic, and all that Hollywood jazz… but if it has a real power behind it, especially with good acting, then I’ll enjoy it. This movie was pretty good in that respect, and it was different. With so many movies and songs and books and poems out there, it sometimes seems that everything that could be thought up has been thought up. But this was atleast a little different. And different is always good. Even though this goes against my "Poster-boy crazy chicks are so damn annoying" moral : Fuck is Brad Pitt hot...why can't I be Marla Singer! (yes, I know that's an entirely different movie...) Also, randomness: When I opened up the back cover of Fight Club, a program from a St. Mark’s thing fell out, and I think it was Caitie’s. Last time I checked it out, I checked it out for her, along with an SNL book she found and a hilarious “Parent’s Guide” thing… posted by Shannon | 12:05 PM |
