So...I woke up at noon on the 7th...my flight was at 7:00 am on the 8th...I had to catch a ride to get to logan at 4:15 am...and I had a lot left to pack seeing as I've been insanely busy lately...so I pulled an all-nighter figuring that sleeping for about 2 hours would make me feel worse than not sleeping at all...plus I figured after watching out of the window durring the 6 hour flight from Logan to San Francisco, I could easily sleep durring the long [11 hour] flight across the Pacific because there would be nothing to look at...

So Alicia was in charge of transportation to the airport, and she showed up with a stretch limo...a black stretch limo...if only I were rich...it was pretty cool, though, seeing as I'd never ridden in a limo before [of course, I am the one who, for no reason at all, just happened to have never ever even eaten a bagel before a few months ago...] So anyway, what a great way to start off a trip, it was a nice ride, and we ended up not waiting around too much at the airport...we went to Starbuck's and, being the coffe hater that I am, got the only thing there that wasn't a "freshly-ground frappe-a-mocha-latte-chino"...Tozzleberry was it?...the plane ride was ok, I'd actually never been out of the Eastern time zone before, so I was pretty much glued to the window, trying to pick out various land marks...the Rocky Mountains were pretty breathtaking, dusted in snow, so high that it seemed like you could jump out of the plane and land safely, but I'm not too much of an outdoorsy type, so, moving on...when we landed in California, I was really disappointed that the layover was a lot shorter than any of us expected, because I wanted to just go right outside and splash my feet into the ocean or walk down a boulevard or something to satisfy me...California has such a cool history and so much to do [why do I live in suburbia?]...a few weeks ago I was watching some documentary show thing about Sunset Boulevard, it was all about the music history there, stuff about The Doors, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and one of the more amusing tid-bits was about the members of Led Zeppelin riding motorcycles through the halls of some big hotel...so all of this is just to say, California seems like a pretty damn cool place to live...and I've been there...well...to San Fransisco...well...to the airport there...damn it...

But then there was the flight overseas...and no matter how I sat, leaned, curled, shifted, listened to music, watched the movies [with or without sound], or even tried ignoring the movies, nothing would put me to sleep...not even Monster's, Inc., Legally Blonde, or The Majestic...and I actually wanted to watch High Crimes, but by the time it reached that last movie, I was just too damned tired to pay attention and focus on what was going on...completely and utterly exhausted...I just couldn't sleep...and when I arrived in Japan it was about 3:00 in the afternoon, the 9th...and I hadn't slept since I woke up at noon, the 7th...[*light bulb*] Now that I look back I realize that's sort of funny...the entire trip I was thinking about Chuck Palahnuik's Fight Club and Choke...[first time in a plane since seeing/reading those]...[*sends inside joke to Caitie*]
